Tessa Shepperson
Tessa Shepperson BA LLB is a solicitor and author, specialising in residential landlord and tenant/housing law. She is sole principal of TJ Shepperson solicitors, and the editor of the popular online legal service Landlord-Law at www.landlordlaw.co.uk, which provides online information, resources and guidance for residential landlords and tenants. She is also the author of two books on housing law:
- The Complete Guide to Letting. This is Tessa's guide for landlords and has been in print continually since 2000 being updated every year. It is recommended by the National Federation of Landlords and is now being used by at least one Landlord association as their handbook
- Renting: The Essential Guide to Tenants Rights. This is Tessa's book for tenants, but is it proving equally popular with landlords! Due to the increasing difficulty in finding solicitors who specialise in this area (particularly any offering legal aid), the book goes into quite a lot of detail on practice and procedure so tenants will have some guidance if they cannot find a legal advisor.
As well as running Landlord-Law and doing work for clients, Tessa also writes for many property journals, and is also a well known speaker on housing law matters.
